Javelina hunting is one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences a hunter can have. While hunting these elusive animals can be challenging especially for those unfamiliar with their habits G1 Outfitters has a long-standing track record of success. We’re proud to have guided countless clients to successful javelina hunts.
Our expert guides understand javelina behavior and use the terrain and the animal’s poor eyesight to your advantage. Spot-and-stalk is the most effective method, and we rely heavily on glassing the landscape, especially south-facing slopes at dawn and dusk, to locate javelina in their bedding areas or as they move across the terrain. Though javelina have poor vision, their hearing and sense of smell are excellent, so approaching with the wind in your face is key to remaining undetected.
In Arizona, we primarily hunt javelina during the spring season, especially in February. You can choose from a general rifle hunt, an archery hunt, or the HAM hunt (handgun, archery, and muzzleloader). The Arizona Game and Fish Department also offers additional opportunities, including over-the-counter (OTC) tags for select units and youth-only fall hunts.
If you’re interested in pursuing this fascinating and often-overlooked game animal, give us a call. We’ll get you set up for an unforgettable javelina hunting adventure with G1 Outfitters.
